The big 3 are pokemon which most teams consider a MUST if you are creating a team. Alot of the time fights will revolve around who can keep their "big 3" the healthiest and some pokemon have found niches to just counter the big 3


- Snorlax is one of the big 3. - It is loved for it's amazing hp stat and insane movepool consisting of both defensive and offensive sets - Snorlax's normal typing aswell as it's high attack stat allows it to abuse STAB. - Also as it has high hp and can learn amnesia, it becomes a very powerful wall in generation 1's special attacking based metagame.

- Starmie like Exeggutor has an amazing movepool and a dual typing of water and psychic - It also gets recover which allows free healing - It is also very fast allowing it to outspeed alot of pokemon - Lastly it takes full advantage of its water and psychic stab as it gets moves with STAB unlike some other pokemon

- Porygon has a niche to specifically counter snorlax - With it gaining recovery it can stall out snorlax and kill it slowly over time - Unfortunately it doesn't have much of a use outside of being a snorlax counter

- Rhydon is a great physical wall. - It can wall normal types like snorlax and tauros making it an effective counter if they dont have a move prepared to deal with it - being a physical attacker also allows it to massively hurt special attackers too. - With the right skills Rhydon can become a second snorlax
